Responsibilities

• The developer’s duty is to design, develop, and maintain various business intelligence applications (ad-hoc reports, self-service architecture, dashboards, scorecard).
• Work directly with business analysts (and at times act as the sole business analyst) to understand exactly why our business will find value in the information contained in the report.
• Iterate with the business users to collaboratively build prototypes to nail down the final desired solution.
• Design and implement a backend report architecture that will achieve a balance in the following goals: meet the business users’ requirements, limit the overhead cost of future maintenance, achieve optimized report performance.
• Provide feedback to the data warehouse team to alert them to data issues or opportunities to expand the data warehouse to meet client expectations.
• Using your understanding of the business and the goals of the report, perform QA on each iteration of a report before handing it off to the business users or internal QA for testing.
• Able to learn new reporting tools and work with a variety of different data sources.
• Expert level Tableau knowledge will be used to educate the business on its features for integration with their reporting needs.
• Collaborate with your team members to promote best practices, data knowledge, and workload management.
• Administer our reporting environments to solve tasks like user permissions, creating new projects, data refresh management, and application upgrades.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in a related field
• 5+ years’ experience working with a modern BI tool (Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, MicroStrategy)
• Advanced skills in writing SQL queries &Understanding of high-level data warehousing practices (architecture, analysis, execution)
• Experience with automation for tasks like deployment of data sources/workbooks across environments, alerts via scripting.
• Experience with the inner workings of Tableau Admin Views and familiarity with workgroup tables.
• Experience querying databases for dashboard performance and data discrepancy troubleshooting.
• Experience in Tableau Administration including Install and upgrade in a distributed enterprise environment.
